Target Audience

This training course was designed and developed as a refresher workshop for footwear examiners seeking I.A.I Footwear Certification.

Course Description

This course will prepare the examiner for I.A.I. footwear certification. This course is taught in a manner in which the student can understand with practical exercises and actual casework. The training course is designed to run three days.

Course Objectives:

The course will better prepare an individual who is seeking I.A.I. footwear certification by providing and reviewing numerous footwear cases and material under the direct supervision of a certified footwear examiner.

Students must clearly understand that this is only a training class to prepare them for certification testing, not certification. Students must submit applications in the regular fashion through the IAI and wait for approval as any application would need to be. This approval could take 60-90 days or more depending on the certification board. Applying and attending this class is not the same as applying for certification.

Students are encouraged to refer to the I.A.I website for all necessary requirements.

Students are not required to take the certification test. However, there will be pre and post examinations through out this training course.

Prior to attending this course: It is imperative that the student reviews and understands the current requirements for certification and that they review the recommended written materials before attending this course. Each student will be tested on their knowledge of this material throughout the course.

Please note: Consistent with the design of pre-certification training this course is not intended to serve as a substitute for the knowledge, experience and ability the student did not gain through a footwear examiner’s training program, nor will it guarantee that the student will pass the actual certification test.
